The Coen Brothers try to turn an old movie into their kind of movie. Starring Tom Hanks, playing the type that was originally his type before he went against type the first time.

Dad: When the best thing about the Coen Brothers' best movie was the soundtrack, you know you're in trouble.

Mom: When the best thing you can say about your husband is that he managed to collect every album, single and B-side released on vinyl by Steely Dan, you know you're in trouble.

Sis: Whenever you have to tell your parents that the rabbit died, even if it's because your stupid brother left the cage open and you couldn't see the poor thing sitting by the top of the stairs in the middle of the night, you know you're in trouble.

Bro: When Snoop Dogg sells out to The Man and shows up in AOL commercials, you know rap music's made it to the same corporate graveyard as rock 'n' roll.

Baby: I don't see a lot of movies that are older than I am. But the 1955 original had Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom, for Mister Rogers' sake! And Obi-Wan was a comic genius back in the day. My big brother's taste in rap music applies here as well - old school rules!

Verdict: Unless you're a big Coen Brothers fan, it's a rental. Better yet, rent the original.
