A Dysfunctional Family of Five Reviews...V for Vendetta!

The movie's based on a Alan Moore graphic novel, and he wants nothing to do with the movie version. Can't be good, can it?

Bro: This would be a great movie if they would just shut up and keep blowing stuff up. I don't wanna be thinking about things I can't understand here! That'd be too much like the time I walked into the bathroom when Mom was coming out of the shower.

Sis: You are the dumbest excuse for a brother I've ever seen - and I saw Stuck on You AND Rain Man.

Dad: This would be a great movie if...well, actually, it never could've been a great movie, let's not kid ourselves. And when did our son catch you in the shower, dear?

Mom: About six years ago. God only knows why he's still talking about it. Maybe because the hedge was growing wild back then? Ah, he'll get over it by puberty.

Baby: It's kind of a mess, isn't it? The movie, that is, not the hedge. It's like when Mom ran out of the jarred baby food and tried to put a chicken breast in the blender in a pinch. But I guess that's what happens when you try to morph a commentary on Margaret Thatcher's England into a commentary on Tony Blair's England by riffing on George Orwell's England using a character from King James' England as a character in whatever the pureed heck this movie is. Phew!

Verdict: Hey, they tried. Matinee or not at all.
